This perspective, upwards to the dome of St Paul's, was taken from the fringes of the Paternoster Square development (see the next collection image for one made within the square itself). It concentrates on the close-at-hand column that gazes out across the cathedral's west front steps.

At the time Chris was on tip toe and wishing he was six feet taller so as to get closer to the head that replaces the more traditional capital of the column. In retrospect though he likes the way this has turned out: with the lines of new-on-the-block column trending rightwards whilst on the opposite side the left-leaning bulk of the centuries-old cathedral seems to glower resentfully.
