An interesting facet of panoramic photography - or very wide panoramas at least - is the fact that they look in more than one direction at the same time. In cityscapes this is an obvious thing: the view up and down a straight street for example. In landscape images however the effect is more subtle. To make this panorama of an ailing "Smoke Bush" (photographed in mid winter) Chris positioned the camera right in amongst it's branches, so that it was, in effect, surounded by them.


BTW: the peaceful, quiet, calm of this public garden is, in a way, rather ironic. The founder of the garden - who donated it to Worthing Council - made the fortune that funded it's creation on the manufacture of tanks for the First World War...
