Unlike the other Barbican panoramas showing here, this one is concerned with the complex's internal spaces. As Chris explains: "This particular spot, Andrewes Highwalk, attracted me because of the way the sturdy, shaded pillars divide the space up into alternating dark/light sections. The glazed, earth-coloured floor tiles add to this by reflecting the light that shines in from beyond the covered area.

Whilst working though, I realised that with necessarily slow shutter speeds, passing figures were going to appear rather ghost-like ("Traces" of themselves) - so I decided to emphasize this by showing a static figure (myself, with nobody else to hand) pressed up against the glass door of the stairwell entrance... watching
