Chris Ledger came to Photography via a Fine Art degree in Painting / Printmaking [  ]. The catalyst for the switch being early 80s images made whilst travelling in SE Asia [].

Involvement in climbing [] took precedence with him for some time but Digital came as a revelation and Photography has been central ever since [].

By early 2006 a full-time commitment was long overdue. A debut one-man show [], at City law firm Eversheds, led to a private commission for a series of London cityscapes. This proved pivotal as it started Chris making "stitched" panoramas. After protracted technical trials he eventually evolved these into large, minutely detailed images.

Having moved to Sussex, Chris showed the first results - both cityscapes and landscapes - at the 2007 Arundel Gallery Trail []. Reaction was very positive. Likewise sales.

Critical acclaim followed too when Professional Photographer magazine named Chris ►Professional Landscape Photographer of the Year (Jan 2008). As a consequence, the remainder of 2008 was largely spent working on various corporate commissions - including one for eight West End panoramas for Shaftesbury plc.

Spring 2009:  Three London exhibitions maintained this momentum:
14 images, including 9 panoramas, at another City law firm, Pinsent Masons,
more at the Battersea Affordable Art Fair (where sales were extremely strong) and,
notably, a major show of 22 panoramas at London's Barbican Library [].

Winter 2009/10: 2 of Chris' "single shot" images were included in the book of Take-a-View's Landscape Photographer of the Year Awards. (The exhibition of which is at the National Theatre). Also, his panoramas are being shown at major art venue, the Barbican Art Gallery [].

Now, in 2010, Chris Ledger continues to make both panoramic and "single shot" works. Although still working out of Sussex much of his subject matter remains based in London.
