At first glance Westminster seems an unlikely location for a major sculpture of Boudica, Queen of the ancient British Iceni tribe. After all, her brutal 60AD revolt, in which she rampaged through Roman Britain, included destroying not just Colchester and St Albans but also London itself. Tens of thousands were killed in the process.

Then again, the provocation - even according to Tacitus - included Boudica's own flogging and the rape of her daughters. By the time Thorneycroft made his heroic charriotted Victorian sculpture she had been elevated to iconic nationalist emblem.

Either way, how perverse is this title in implying that this rampaging warrior might, in mid slaughter mode, be mindful of traffic regulations...
