A couple of Bare Facts:
1) Ashdown Forest was, following the Conquest, a deer hunting forest and
2) It is now at the heart of East Sussex's High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

And a couple of Bear Fictions:
1) The forest was (and eternally is?) the home of AA Milne and EH Sheppard's much-loved ursine creation and
2) The tree here is beleived to shade the location of a certain "Heffalump Trap".

Perhaps, just over that bright horizon...
