The hub of London's financial centre is known simply as "Bank". This image of it is made just adjacent to one of the railinged exits from the subteranean tube station of the same name - and from which generations of suited business-types, couriers and tourists have emerged blinking. (Although, these days they are just as likely to arrive by bike).

As to the architecture: there is, as can be seen, a preponderance of mock classical edifices present, notably the Bank of England itself (aka "the Old Lady of Threadneedle Street"). Her Parthenon-esque columns are seen here at centre left, with the solemn equestrian statue of the Duke of Wellington standing guard. Not, we fancy, the only security involved...
